Full description | Stylobate Blocks and Gutter, Fishbourne Roman Palace, near Chichester. Blocks and robbed out gutter around the Northern courtyard of the East Wing of the Palace. Note the base of hypocaust to the right. Looking north west. The stylobate blocks provided a foundation for a colonnade. The hypocaust would have heated the floor of the East Wing bath suite. 1961 excavation. |
