Full description | St. Nicholas Church, the Street, Bramber. View across field showing full length of church with tower on right. Originally built c1075 by William de Braose as castle chapel, the church was badly damaged in the Civil War. Sketch shows the church after the tower was rebuilt c1790 and further restoration work was carried out in 1864. Signed in lower right corner. |
