Full descriptionEileen Stone, Lock Farm, Partridge Green. Eileen Stone (later Eileen Speller) on the right with her friend Kay Denyer (left) having cleared out the cow stalls at Lock Farm in Partridge Green. They are wearing blouses, trousers and boots with Eileen wearing an apron. Eileen was from Lyminster and was a member of the Women's Land Army during the Second World War. Kay joined the Land Army at the same time as Eileen and was from Littlehampton. They trained together at Plumpton Agricultural College and both went to White House Farm, Itteringham in Norfolk before coming back to Sussex. Wartime West Sussex 1939-45. Loaned by her daughter, Leigh Lawson.
