Short title | Bolney stagecoach in front of the Queen's Head, Bolney |
Full description | Bolney stagecoach in front of the Queen's Head, Bolney. Looking east along what is now the A272 in foreground and across the Brighton Road (later the A23). The driver and four other men sit on top of a stagecoach with a team of horses harnessed. Written on the side of the stagecoach are 'Bolney' and 'Crawley'. A man with a top hat and leather shoulder-bag stands in front of the coach. The man holding the lead horses is possibly a member of the Batchelor family who ran the Queen's Head from 1904. Scanned from an original photograph lent by Colin Hartill. |
