Full description | Devils Dyke Station, near Brighton. View showing the station with steam train. The old train carriage with shack attached in foreground was a tea room. Boards advertise "Sutton Seeds" and "Jay's Furnishing Stores". The service started 1887 and carried tourists from West Brighton Station (now Hove Station) to the foot of the hill. There was another steep railway up to the top of the hill. The service stopped in 1938. |
