Full descriptionHalnaker Corner (also known as Halnaker Crossroads), Halnaker, north east of Chichester. Woman with baby in pram stands next to two children by wooden fence in front of large brick house with dormer windows. Boy wears sailor suit, baby wears bonnet. Two women stand in garden on right, the one in front of the porch wearing a white smock is Edith Pennicott, later Blunden (1893-1960) and the woman on the right is her mother, also Edith Pennicott (1864-1947). Two men wearing caps, overalls, apron stand in front of left part of brick house, which has shop window and partially obscured sign: "F. Pennicott, Grocer, Baker, Draper, Pork butcher and Provision Merchant". Delivery bicycle leans against fence. Thatched house with weatherboard walls in background was once the home of Mr Trussler. On the left is a walnut tree adjacent to which is the entrance to J. W. Blunden's Wood, Coal and Haulage Merchants. Postcard postmarked Arundel 13 June 1908.
