Full descriptionHigh Street, Henfield. Elevated view looking north west over High Street towards buildings. In left foreground on west side of street is the pound-keeper's cottage, wall behind it encloses the pound - the cottage and pound were demolished c1905. House in right background is now the Henfield Club on the corner of High Street and Cagefoot Lane. Field centre left was known as the George Field and was the venue for fairs in the early 20th century and football up to c1914. Lamp post on right. Postcard postmarked 29 January 1915, sent to Miss Stewart, Graffham School, Petworth.
