Full description | Youngman's Factory, Manor Royal Industrial Estate, Crawley. An aerial photograph of the ladder factory. Youngman's was the first large employer in Crawley. Charlie Youngman moved his wooden ladder firm from Battersea and 'Leda' chrome bathroom fittings from Vauxhall to Crawley in the early 1950s, employing nearly 300 people by 1954. Youngman's business boomed when timber from Canada and Scandinavia ceased to be rationed. Compare to RBP5137 and RBP5138.
